Patti Vest, Chief Instructor; CFI CFII, MEI
I have always had a passion for aviation, and an enthusiasm for teaching that led me to this career. My background is in education, and teaching in both private and public school systems. After my third child was born, I took the opportunity to take a leave of absence from my current job, and take flight lessons to earn a Private Pilot license (in which I always wanted to do). During that training, I became addicted to flying. It was the most exciting, exhilarating thing I had ever experienced, and I wanted more! To be able to teach my new hobby to others seemed to be the ultimate career. So, my husband supported my desire, and mortgaged our home for my training to become a Flight Instructor. For the past 15 years, I have taught individuals in their own aircraft, taught at University flight schools, and have been here at Voyager for several years. I have several thousand hours of teaching flight to others, and hold a Gold Seal CFI certificate. Aviation is my second family, and I would probably live at the airport if I didn’t have such a great family to go home to. The people at Voyager are different from any other school I have been a part of…they ALL share the passion for aviation, and the desire to make flying the best experience possible for those who join us for their flight training needs.
